What do you call yours

Do you name your bikes? If so why do you name your bikes?

I do, I have a set method for naming a new Motorbike purchase. Must be a woman's name and must begin with the first letter of the Marque. I've had Tilly, Yazza, Hetty, Daisy.. the list goes on! Triumph, Yamaha, Honda, Ducati for confirmation. But why? why do I name my motorcycles? why is it law for me? It's quite simple - it is so as I can soothe them, egg them on, praise them, beseech them; as I am what you may call a fumer, as opposed to a filler! Yep, that's right, I have always and no doubt will always be one of those weirdos that pass by a perfectly good filling station when the fuel light is due to come on. Of course I know in my head that I should stop and fill-up, but I don't, I cannot explain why? Perhaps I like the chaos, maybe I like being stupid, perhaps I enjoy whispering sweet nothings in the ear of the bike I'm riding? "Come on my girl, get me there and I'll treat you to some 98 super" I genuinely do not know why I am like this, I certainly do not enjoy the berating from the wife (car or bike). I don't like being given the daggers by family or friends when I'm having to coast downhill (car) to save a couple of atoms.

Anyway that is my reasoning for naming a bike, it's a stupid reason I will grant you but tbh I've only ever ran out of fuel once. France on route back from Spain, I was heading north on the A10, I even knew that there was 1 last garage before the Peage gave way to normal motorway before heading around Rouen. I knew the filling stations were sparse, I went hacking past with the bike already on reserve. I ran out around 4 miles shy of the next services. The very nice frenchman with the low loader recovery truck smiled at me, he knew I was a dick, I knew I had been a dick, my bank statement after knew I had been a dick!
