Along the A697, From Morpeth to the Scottish Borders

We have many stunning motorcycling routes in Northumberland and this one takes in the scenic inland route, coming off the A1 just above Morpeth and easily reached from us on the Wooler road from Belford.  The road passes through Lonframlington and Powburn - if you are antique/vintage fans, then we can recommend Powburn Antiques Centre, there is a petrol station there also. Do stop off at the lovely little market town of Wooler for a mooch around and some lunch or afternoon tea and then head on for Coldstream and into the Scottish Borders.  It is a lovely route with some stunning scenery, taking in the Cheviot Hills.
