New Cycle Safety Action Plan for London?
Transport for London is launching a new Cycling Action Plan in the capital, with the ambition to reduce the number of cyclists killed on the capitals roads by 40% by 2020.
The plan is focused on understanding the risks and challenges faced by cyclists, trying to identify the most effective interventions?
A contentious issue no doubt for most, but in this day and age when it seems we all (cyclist, motorcyclist, driver) feel that the roads are our own and believe others are encroaching into 'our personal space' it seems a bit futile? Would the budget for this be better served by getting to the root cause of the problem which is our lack of respect and understanding for other road users?
