The stunning, award winning wine producing village of Roquebrun is set at the entrance to to Haut Languedoc National Park, with its fabulous scenery, winding roads and stunning hill passes and mountains.

Roquebrun is known locally as La Petite Nice of Languedoc due to its unusual micro climate typically giving 300 days of sunshine a year.

Considering its size (500 habitants) the village offers excellent eating for all budgets - 2 Traditional French eateries, a Specialist Tapas bar, a centrally located bar with an outside seating area which is perfect for 'people watching' and a small tabac, also brilliant for people watching and serves breakfasts, light lunches and evening meals.

There is small supermarket next to the bar for essentials, a bakery with 78 flavours of ice cream, an award winning village wine cave which is definitely worth a visit - as are the award winning local vineyards - and a fabulous local cave. For lunches and provisions there is a wonderful bakery, and a weekly fresh produce market (Friday), an interesting preserves shop, a Post Office and library! 

In addition to this staggering array of village amenities Roquebrun also offers 44kms of white water rafting/kayaking (Canoe Roquebrun), pedalos and SUP's for hire, a family friendly river beach and wild swimming opportunities further down river with rock pools and secret little beaches for lazying the days away. If you are feel like stretching your legs out of the saddle, then there is plenty of local low level and hill walking/hiking opportunities, a wealth of glorious cycle and biking routes - on, and off road, guided electric bike tours all on our doorstep! These are the things that make Roquebrun such a special and unique place!

La Forge is a real 'home from home'; our large rooms are simple, clean, and welcoming. Nothing pretentious, just simple decor, wooden furnishings, tiled floors, shuttered windows, cool fresh cotton sheets - no TV's - and in the morning we offer fresh and bountiful breakfasts* (available on request). Locked garage storage available for motorbikes, cycles and walking gear.
