Bell’aa Gîte

With a double bedroom downstairs and another beamed double and twin upstairs our  cottage is ideal for a family or group of friends.  Large open sitting room with mezzanine area, beautiful equipped kitchen and two showers rooms with wc and a separate utility room with washing machine make this a great house with beams throughout and views over the fields. There is an enormous terrace with BBQ, sun sail and table and chairs for alfresco dining.  The cottage is in a rural village, 20km from the beautiful town of Montreuil sur Mer and just 35 minutes to the wide open sandy beaches of the Cote D'Opale.  The roads here are very quiet, ideal for biking and there are some fabulous routes around here.  The River Aa runs through the village and is opposite the cottage.

For bookings of 5 nights or more we are offering an evening in our amazing BBQ at our house in the village, so bring your steaks and salads and enjoy this wonderful experience   Our 2020 July and August prices are £660 and include all bedding and towels for your holiday. 

You can arrive from 4pm and depart before 10m on checkout day.

For 2020 and the Covid19 crisis we are asking guests to provide their own pillows, if this is not possible then you can hire them from us at €10 per room.  We are leaving 24 hours between guests to ensure that we have enough time to deep clean the property before you arrive and we will greet you with a mask on.

All other bedding and towels and house linen is provided.  We are providing a freshly laundered duvet for each bed so you can sleep easy knowing that previous guests haven't used that duvet before you

The cottage is self catering and has a fully equipped kitchen.  There are restaurants within 7km that cater for all budgets if you don't fancy cooking.  We can advise you on nearby restaurants and can book them if required.  For special events we can organise a cake and bubbles and at Christmas we offer tasteful decorations.

Fully renovated in 2019, our cottage retains many original features and has a stunning floor to roof aspect in the living room.  All mod cons are available, free WiFi and Sky TV and a selection of DVDs and books to make your stay as comfy as possible.  There is a 28sqm terrace at the front of the property that captures the sun from breakfast to sunset, ideal for alfresco dining.  TV, DVD and free WiFi are all included in the package and on arrival there will be a bottle of wine to enjoy.

Off road parking for 3 cars and we have a secure lockable garage for bikes for 2020.  

Local visitor tax is payable on arrival at .80cts per person.  There is 56kw of electric included in the rental, any extra over this is charged on a meter reading.  All gas and water is included.

Local shops and restaurants are within 7km and offer a good selelction of goods. Further afield you'll be spoilt for choice with museums, pretty villages and towns to explore whilst riding the quiet lanes.  Take time out in Montreuil where you can walk the ramparts or explore the Marshes of Saint Omer ...it's the only place in France where the postman still delivers by boats.  Historians will love the diversity in the region from Agincourt to WW2 and the space race, award winning exhibits open all year.  For younger members they can enjoy the two amusement parks nearby, build sandcastles or fully kites on the beaches.  Cycling is a passion here and there are great trails around the area  and walkers will love the quiet country tracks through the fields where you can often see wild deer, pheasants, red kites and beautiful hares. The beaches with their seaside resorts await you, beach sports, walking the dunes or just have a picnic on the sands or enjoy a stroll and watch the sunset. And at Calais we even have a dragon you can ride on....amazing experience
